ACCOMmoDATION

We’re not the only reason to visit Blackwood, so there’s usually somewhere cosy to stay.
The very pretty Mineral Springs Caravan Park is top pick. It’s family friendly, has powered and unpowered camping sites and an onsite rental caravan. Suitable for caravans, tents, campervans, buses, RVs & motor homes, it has bathrooms and toilets, communal BBQs and a camp kitchen as well as a playground.
Other accommodation is available in and near Blackwood including B&Bs and cottage rentals.
AirBnB, like Blackwood itself, can also turn up gold.
FUEL

There’s no petrol station in Blackwood so make sure you fill up before getting here. The nearest fuel available is in Trentham (Diesel and ULP only, limited hours) or at the roadhouses on both sides of the Western Highway near Ballan (all fuels, 24 hours).
HOUSE RULES

It takes a lot of work from our volunteers and a lot of trust by the good people of Blackwood to keep the Festival running every year. Help make everyone’s life easier by being respectful of a few ground rules.

Everyone
-
Be lovely to one another. We love the music, we love each other. Blackwood Festival is a family friendly event and that’s how we like it.
-
Be lovely to the Blackwood Township. Respect the locals and their home, they’re so kind to host us each year and we’re lucky to be able to enjoy the splendour of their town.
-
No dogs (or pets of any kind)! Leave poochy at home or in the care of a loved one. Due to the conditions above we absolutely cannot allow any dogs onsite. Unfortunately there can be no exceptions made, other than accredited medical assistance dogs.
-
Look after your stuff! Unfortunately we can’t take any responsibility for any loss or damage to property brought to the Festival by performers and attendees. Entry to the event is with the understanding that patrons are wholly responsible for their own property including: musical instruments, bags, money, cool sunglasses, fancy hats and other personal items.
-
Don’t try and park on site. Vehicles may not enter festival ground unless camping. There are reserved parking spaces for people with limited mobility available just outside the entrance gate.
-
Total fire ban, day and night. Fires may not be lit except by festival organisers. This includes flares, fireworks, firesticks, fire juggling, fire breathing, firewalking, candles, generators, gas cylinders, BBQs, or anything that may carry a risk of fire.
-
Rest and rehydrate. Eat lots and drink plenty of water, pace yourself in that hot Australian sun.
-
Slip, slop, slap. Speaking of sun, it can get nice and hot this time of year so be sun smart: hats, sunscreen and please, shirts.
CAMPERS
-
Only patrons with camping tickets are permitted to stay on the Reserve overnight, no one else, no matter how cute they are.
-
Very large vehicles such as RVs and caravans are not allowed into the festival site. Please contact the Caravan Park to accommodate these vehicles.
-
For obvious safety reasons driving around within camping area is not permitted. If you have to leave before the end of the festival, find a place off site to keep your car over the weekend or let us know.
-
Keep the noise down after dark. We encourage music to be played throughout the festival, however no amplified music will be presented or permitted after midnight.
-
Look up! Be careful where you camp, trees can fall so best to be safe.
-
Bring a bin. We would appreciate if campers could take their rubbish with them where possible, or at least to bring it to rubbish and recycling areas. Keep Australia beautiful.

-
Stay warm. Days are hot, nights are cold, make sure you have all the comforts you need for camping.
